Creating Your Business Plan

In order to be successful as a small business owner you need a plan. That plan can take many forms but one of the most common and useful formats is the “traditional” business plan. This is the document that most financial institutions and investors will ask for when you approach them about funding. It will also have sections with important information that you need to know about starting, growing and operating your business profitably.

This link will take you to the Small Business Administration website and give you a template to get you started in creating your own effective business plan for your business.

The Executive Summary from the SBA page says:

“Your executive summary is a snapshot of your business plan as a whole and touches on your company profile and goals. Read these tips about what to include.”
