Contractor Chat this month hosts the HUBZone Quarterly meeting. Come and get your questions answered regarding the HUBZone program and certification. Guest speaker this month is Anna Urman, Director for the VA PTAP program (Procurement Technical Assistance Program). She will be on-hand to share key points and FAQs. She will also let you know how PTAP can assist you with your HUBZone certification.

As Director, Anna’s responsibilities are to maintain strategic relationships with government agencies, small business liaisons, and public-private partnerships. Anna is a leading research analyst specializing in government procurement policy and market analysis. Prior to joining PTAP, Anna was the Director of the South Fairfax Small Business Development Center. Anna holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, and performed post-graduate work in Government Contracts Law and IP Law at George Washington University Law School. Anna lives in Alexandria, VA with her husband and daughters. She is active local politics and animal rescue.

This event provides insight into successful small contractors, large prime contractors, reps from government agencies, and other resources. Each month features a contractor or resource person who shares strategies, tips and tricks to grow your government contracting business successfully. This is also a great venue to meet new companies to team and partner with.

Lunch is provided.

A program of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the HUBZone program helps small businesses gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities while increasing employment opportunities in economically distressed areas. In an effort to assist local businesses with navigating the HUBZone certification process, the Leesburg Economic Development Office has partnered with local business owners who have completed the process successfully to present quarterly information sharing meetings.
